CFUW South Delta awards three types of bursaries/ scholarships yearly. Each of the South Delta High Schools receives $1,000, which they award to a female student with good academics with no other scholarships, and in financial need. The education committee meets in June, after having read and evaluated the applications for the community bursaries, which are open to female Canadian students, with good academics, 20 years and older, and in financial need. The Laura Fowler Scholarship, named for a former CFUW member, is awarded when sufficient funds are available from an endowment. The amount has ranged from $2,000 - $3,000. It is awarded to a female graduate student in Fine Arts or Social Work at UBC. Winners generally have excellent academics and references.
Applications are available starting in February, and completed applications must be received by May 31.
